Transitioning from Newcastle, where Fairstone has been headquartered for the last 15 years, this move is a testament to the firm’s robust growth, now boasting over £130m in gross revenues and 1,200 colleagues nationwide across 56 locations. The new flagship office is set to feature cutting-edge technology and modern facilities, including neighbourhood workspaces, a business lounge, restaurant, private meeting pods, a media studio, and an amphitheatre for events with business partners. Designed to foster a creative and dynamic work environment, the headquarters will also provide high-end client-facing areas and the capability for seamless virtual connections with Fairstone’s hubs and regional offices.

An extensive fit-out of the two-storey, 25,000 sq. feet building is already underway to transform it into a leading-edge facility, with plans to complete the move by the end of September.

Paul Wise, Director of Hanway Commercial, commented on the milestone, “Assisting Fairstone in securing new and larger premises in the North East has been a highlight for us. This landmark site, previously home to Nike, will serve as an excellent base for Fairstone’s team and their ambitious growth plans.”

Fairstone CEO Lee Hartley shared, “Our aim is to uphold the highest standards for both clients and colleagues. As we grow, finding a location that meets our evolving needs became crucial. We aimed for a space that could accommodate an additional 120 head office staff and significantly enhance our meeting and collaboration spaces. We are deeply proud of our North East roots and are committed to maintaining our head office in the region. The former Nike headquarters emerged as an ideal choice, reflecting our commitment to investing in Sunderland—a city known for supporting ambitious businesses and attracting global companies like Nissan, Arriva, EE, and Barclays.”

“Our new headquarters will not only be a vibrant place for our team but also aim to make us a more attractive employer, helping us to attract top graduates and meet with clients and partners in an improved setting. This move supports our extensive UK and Ireland growth strategy, providing the necessary facilities to achieve our goals and attract top talent.”

Fairstone, renowned for being one of the UK’s largest Chartered financial planning firms, stands as the top-ranked wealth management house on Trustpilot, with over 7,000 five-star reviews. The group manages £15 Billion in capital for 45,000 wealth clients across 56 UK locations.
